The Sword That Brings True Peace

Jesus’ words in Matthew 10:34 challenge our understanding of peace: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” True peace comes not by avoiding conflict but through confronting sin and falsehood. Jesus’ sword divides, revealing what must be cut away to establish His Kingdom. As His followers, we are called to be peacemakers—not peacekeepers—willing to carry our cross and face the hard work of justice, truth, and reconciliation. The path to lasting peace begins with the disruption of what is false, leading to eternal restoration.
